A little record from two weeks journey... (write on 29.10.11)
We always think that developed countries are always better in lots of ways compare to our country, Indonesia. But I didn't think that way right now. Even though, Germany is more sophisticated, well-arranged and most of the citizen are discipline to their city rules but I have seen some similarities between Germany and Indonesia. At least on the process or output of a seminar.
In academic level, every issues about sustainability, development/rural development, poverty, land use, food security, agriculture, water and energy use, and so on are always discussed on very normative ways. Indeed, there are some innovative ideas but at the end it means nothing until there is a political will to do so from the government. Therefore, things that we need to do is to open our government heart and mind so they are really think about their citizen not only for urban citizen but also for rural citizen.
